April 20th - Want to learn about your family history, but don't know where to start? Join museum members at the Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library for a Genealogy course for beginners. Experts from the Eastern Shore Archives will be there to answer all your questions. This free program is put on by the Library and runs from 3pm-4pm. Please call 902 889 2227 to register.

 

April 22nd - Join members of Eastern Shore Archives and L'Acadie de Chezzetcook to view photographs in our digital collections and to learn how best to care for and preserve your own original photographs. Bring along photographs that are important to your Eastern Shore community and family and we will scan them, giving you a high resolution digital copy to take home along with your original. Be a part of our Eastern Shore history and learn how to save your most treasured memories(photos) to share with generations to come. This free event will be taking place at the Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library from 10am-1:30pm. Please call the Library with any questions at 902 889 2227.

 

April 28th - The revealing of the final product of our mural project. Local community members have been working with artist Sylvie Boisvert to complete the mural that represents the past and present industries of Acadian Chezzetcook. May 2017

 

May 27th - We are planning a literacy festival. There will be story telling, writing workshops and local authors to meet. Stay tuned for details.

 

June 2017

 

June 21st - National Aboriginal Day. We will be hosting very special activities that represent the unique relationship the Acadians of Chezzetcook held with the first nations of the area.

 

June 28th - St.Jean Baptiste Day. A heritage dinner will be open to all community members.

 

July 2017

 

July 1st - Canada Day Celebrations. The Atlantic Canadian Military History Association is coming back to join us with their great displays and reenactments. There will be live music, a bbq, cake and refreshments. Free entry into the museum kicks off the start of our season at the heritage site. Fun for the whole family. Free entry.

 

July 11th - Afternoon Hats and Tea Party from 2-4pm. Join us in La Grange building for a social event. Enjoy tea, coffee and treats while you decide who to vote for in our Best Hat contest. All ages are welcome, entry is by donation.

 

July 16th - Live Music on the Balcony. Come enjoy a relaxing evening of local music on the balcony of the Grange.

 

July 22nd - Kids Day. Fun and games for the children. Stay tuned for details.

 

July 28th - Commemoration Day. Listen to the ringing of the bells in commemoration of the great upheaval and join in the singing of the Marie Stella at the beautiful church of St.Anselms.

 

August 2017

August 10th-15th - Acadian Days Festival. Stay tuned for a detailed breakdown of all our events. Traditional dance lessons, paint lessons, a concert, a festival day and plenty of activities for the family will take place. It is our biggest event of the year!

 

August 20th - Live Music on the Balcony. Come enjoy a relaxing evening of local musci on the balcony of the Grange.
