April 20th - Want to learn about your family history, but don't know where to start? Join museum members at the Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library for a Genealogy course for beginners. Experts from the Eastern Shore Archives will be there to answer all your questions. This free program is put on by the Library and runs from 3pm-4pm. Please call 902 889 2227 to register.
April 22nd - Join members of Eastern Shore Archives and L'Acadie de Chezzetcook to view photographs in our digital collections and to learn how best to care for and preserve your own original photographs. Bring along photographs that are important to your Eastern Shore community and family and we will scan them, giving you a high resolution digital copy to take home along with your original. Be a part of our Eastern Shore history and learn how to save your most treasured memories(photos) to share with generations to come. This free event will be taking place at the Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library from 10am-1:30pm. Please call the Library with any questions at 902 889 2227.
May 27th - Book festival with special guests Bartin Barkhouse with a presentation of the history of Chezzetcook and Bouton d'Or Acadie publishing house with a display of maritime books for sale.
June 17th - Acadian Dance workshop with Mylene Comeau. 10$/person
June 23rd - Paint Night with local artist. 10$/person
July 1st - Canada Day Celebrations. The Atlantic Canadian Military History Association is coming back to join us with their great displays and reenactments. There will be live music, a bbq, cake and refreshments. Free entry into the museum kicks off the start of our season at the heritage site. Fun for the whole family. Free entry.
July 9th - Butter Churning demo at the farmers market in Musquodoboit Harbour
July 16th - Afternoon Hats and Tea Party from 2-4pm. Join us in La Grange building for a social event. Enjoy tea, coffee and treats while you decide who to vote for in our Best Hat contest. All ages are welcome $5/person. Live Music featuring Céline & Josée from Truro, with special guests Weldon Boudreau & his daughter Josée.
July 19th - Buoy Project meet & greet at La Grange building in colaboration with ES archives and Memory Lane Heritage Village. Come help us identitfy local wooden buoys from the past and connect them with the appropriate owner. Tea and coffee provided.
August 6th - Butter Churning Demo at the Musquodoboit Harbour Farmers Market 9-1. Free taste testing and a display of artefacts.
August 11th - Bourré d'joie en concert. Live Music at St.Anselms church hall on West Chezzetcook rd. 10$ entry. Burgers, snacks and refreshments available. Dance, sing and be merry with us. 7-10pm.
August 12th - Lake & Shore Days parade from the Porters Lake Superstore to the Community Centre. Look for our float!
August 13th - Acadian Festival on the grounds:

12:00 - Festival at L'Acadie de Chezzetcook (79 Hill Rd, West Chezzetcook) There will be a free shuttle service from the church to our site from noon to 4pm. 3$/person and 10$/family of 4+

Join us for these activities and a BBQ, steamed clams, a bake sale, gift shop, open house and tours of the museum and site, a canteen, live music, bouncy castle, a rug hooking display and wool spinning demo.
Dates to be determined: Annual Seaside Christmas. Browse the flea market of local crafts and art to find the perfect Christmas gift. Apple cider and gingerbread will be served in the Acadian House Museum where an old fashionned Christmas tree will be set up. Door prizes and more. This event is in partnership with the STBA Seaside Christmas along the Eastern Shore. Be sure to stop by other local shops on your way.
Date to be determined - Annual Christmas tree lighting and carols. French and english carols to be sung. Snacks and hot refreshments available after the tree lighting. Thank you to HRM Events for funding this communnity event.
