Welcome Centre

Our Welcome Centre is the newest addition to our historic site. The building features a display highlighting local history and it is also used to host arts and crafts activities.

The Museum

Our museum is dedicated to the Acadian way of life, as it once existed in the area. Experience historic artifacts and displays, and explore the genealogy of local Acadian families.

Gift Shop

Nestled in our Museum building, our Gift Shop offers cookbooks filled with traditional recipes, books on Acadian history along a variety of delightful Acadian souvenirs.

La Cuisine de Brigitte – Tea Room

La Cuisine de Brigitte is opened daily during the months of April to December, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Daily specials are offered giving you the opportunity to taste various tasty home style meals.

The Barn

A landmark for every farm, La Grange hosts many community activities and events. The facility is available for rent to both members and non-members.

Tool Shed

See our display of tools from yesteryear, essential to fishing and farming in historic rural Nova Scotia.

Volunteers and supporters are able to participate in many different ways:

  • Share your ideas for the site or community needs;
  • Participate in our events;
  • Be a volunteer;
  • Share your musical talents at one of our events;
  • Help organize an activity;
  • Run a children’s program;
  • Welcome visitors;
  • Demonstrate a traditional skill like knitting, weaving, candy-making or gardening;
  • Bake for an event;
  • etc.
